Detroit Lakes Area Community Foundation The Foundation is a community foundation serving the Detroit Lakes, Minnesota area with a mission to focus financial support to build our sense of community and strengthen our social fabric.
The Foundation's mission is to focus financial support to build our sense of community and strengthen our social fabric.The Detroit Lakes Area Community Foundation operates under the umbrella of West Central Initiative Fund and receives donations from individuals, families, businesses, and charitable organizations. These funds are invested and managed by West Central Initiative Fund and these resources are made available through a grant application process to respond to community needs and aspirations. The foundation is a 501(c)3 eligible organization

Meeting times are: 4th Thursday in January, April, July and October at 4:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Bank Board Room.  Grant requests need to be submitted by the first day of the months the meetings are held.

Members of the Advisory Committee are available to speak with individuals, groups, and organizations about the work of the Foundation. Grant seekers may receive guidance with grant application process from Advisory Committee members.
