| Where is public parking?
Vehicle parking for the City Beach and park areas is available to the Becker County
Fairgrounds on the south end of Rossman Avenue. Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Fee: $3:00
each time a vehicle enters the parking facility. No additional vehicles will be allowed to
park after 10:00 p.m. and no parking after 1:30 a.m. will be permitted. |
| Are left hand turns allowed? In
order to facilitate the flow of traffic, left hand turns will be prohibited on West Lake
Drive and Washington Avenue in the area of the City Beach. |
| Are there traffic control procedures?
In order to alleviate congested traffic conditions, no through traffic will be permitted
at certain intersections south of Forest Street in the area of the City beach and parks.
Traffic control procedures may begin at 7 p.m. and continue until 3:00 a.m. |
| Where is camping available/allowed?
Arrangements for overnight camping have been made at the Soo Pass Dude Ranch (Home of the WEFest), located 2 miles south of Detroit
Lakes on Highway 59. Overnight camping is prohibited in the City of Detroit Lakes except
in an approved and and licensed campground. Camping is expressly prohibited in the
fairgrounds, City parks and beaches and no person shall for overnight camping purposes
leave or park a house trailer, motor home or recreational vehicle on any street. |
| Is trespassing enforced? Please
do not trespass on private property without the consent of the property owner. |
| Where is boat launching permitted?
A public landing is provided for your convenience at the intersection of West Lake Drive
and Rossman Avenue with parking of vehicles and boat trailers available in the adjacent
Becker County Fairgrounds. |
| What are the vehicle passenger rules?
All persons being transported by a passenger vehicle shall be within the passenger
compartment of that vehicle at all times when the vehicle is in motion. |
| What are the rules of consumption of
alcoholic beverages? The consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on City
beaches, parks, streets, sidewalks and the fairgrounds. Consumption on private property
must be with the consent of the property owner. |
| How much are basic fines? All
misdemeanor violations are punishable by up to a $700 fine and/or a 90 day jail term. |
