A special meeting of the City Council was called to order in the Council Chambers of the City Administration Building at 5:00 P.M., Monday, October 17, 2005, all members of the Council having been duly notified of the meeting and the business to be transacted.
Present: Vice Mayor Matt Brenk; Assistant City Administrator Lynne Krieger; Finance Officer Louis Guzek; Street Commissioner Roy Estes and Building Official Calvin Mayfield.
Aldermen: Anderson, Aune, Hannon, Heltemes, Imholte, Tollefson, Tucker and Zeman.
Absent: Mayor Larry G. Buboltz; City Attorney William Briggs; City Administrator Richard Grabow; Community Development Director Larry Remmen; Public Utilities Superintendent Curt Punt; City Engineer Gary Nansen; Liquor Store Manager Bradley MacMaster; Police Chief Kelvin Keena and Fire Chief Jeffrey Swanson.
Pursuant to the advertisement for bids for the renovation of the Detroit Lakes Pavilion, the following bids were received and opened on October 17, 2005, at 2:00 P.M.:

Upon the recommendation of the Street and Park Committee, a motion was made by Alderman Tollefson, seconded by Alderman Hannon to accept the base bid of AAA Construction, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, in the amount of $400,774.00, for renovation of the Pavilion and approve the adding Alternates 1-4 and 7, as funds permit. After discussion, a motion was made by Alderman Zeman, seconded by Alderman Imholte and carried, with one abstention (Imholte), to accept the base bid of AAA Construction, in the amount of 400,774.00, for renovation of the Pavilion, including Alternates 1-4 and 7 bringing the total amount of the bid to $512,508.00.
There being no further business to conduct, Vice Mayor Brenk adjourned the meeting (5:08 P.M.).
