| The Park Board acts as an advisory board to the
City Council reviewing all park related and recreational activities. They meet on the
3rd
Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m., Conference Room at the City Administration Building. The Park Board
Members are: Dan Wenner, Chairman; Jamie Marks Erickson, Dan Josephson,
David Ohman, Karen Skoyles, Brad Green, Mark Greening, Lou Guzek, James
Hannon as
Ex-Officio members. |

| City Park |
| The City Park has 25.2 acres
furnished with many picnic tables and park benches. There are three picnic shelters with
grills and electricity. There is a bandshell available to the public. The City Park has a
frisbee golf course, a physical fitness course, and several sites with playground
equipment. There also is a recreation center, tennis courts, and several bathrooms with
one City bathhouse available. |
| City Beach |
| The City of Detroit Lakes has a mile
long maintained sandy beach on the shore of Little Detroit Lake. The beach runs along West
Lake Drive with a total of 4.8 acres providing swimming activities for the public with a
life guard area. The City beach has two public accesses providing areas for launching
boats and personal watercraft for fishing and other water sport activities. There is also
a fishing pier on the City Beach providing fishing access for everyone and it is
handicapped accessible. |
| Grand Army
of the Republic (G.A.R.) Park |
| The G.A.R. Park is the memorial park
remembering the Civil War Veterans. This park has two picnic shelters and a beautiful
flower garden. It provide a nice relaxing atmosphere. |
| Long Lake
Park |
The Long Lake Park has 38.9 acres with a picnic
shelter and a newly constructed kitchen facility which is available to the public for
various functions. Several picnic tables and restrooms are available. The park also has a
very nice boat launch and parking area. Horseshoe pits are also available. Click on

| Peoples Park |
| The Peoples Park has 7.1 acres and
is located on Rossman Avenue. This park has a basketball court, volleyball court,
horseshoe pits, one picnic shelter, several picnic tables, and playground equipment
available to the public. |
